CFA Okanagan Endowment Fund Reaches $ 65,000

Through the generous support of the Bull-Bear Golf Tournament sponsors, the Okanagan CFA Society has amassed a total of $ 65,000 in donations to their endowment fund held at the Central Okanagan Foundation. This year, participants at the 5th annual tournament contributed an additional $ 8000.

The Okanagan CFA Endowment Fund was formed through the Central Okanagan Foundation with the intent to support local post secondary students in their pursuit for business and investment careers. A short 5 years later, the fund is set to distribute the first round of scholarships this coming spring.

Each of the three $ 1000 scholarships will be awarded to qualified fourth year students at UBC Okanagan, Thompson Rivers University and Okanagan College. Qualifications are based on merit, area of study with preference given to those pursuing the CFA program or those students who have been involved with the CFA Okanagan on a volunteer basis. In order to be considered for the scholarships, candidates need apply directly through their University or College.

To earn the CFA charter, candidates must successfully pass through the CFA Program, a graduate-level self-study program that combines a broad curriculum with professional conduct requirements, culminating in three sequential exams. The CFA designation is a mark of distinction that is globally recognized by employers and investors as the definitive standard for investment professionals.
