Blackwell Publishing and the Australian Veterinary Association Announce New Partnership
Melbourne, Australia (PRWEB) May 18, 2006
The Australian Veterinary Association (AVA) and Blackwell Publishing are pleased to announce a landmark partnership. Starting in July 2006, Blackwell Publishing will begin publishing the Australian Veterinary Journal (AVJ) – Australia’s premier veterinary science text.
The AVJ will be joining Blackwell Publishing’s prestigious veterinary journal list and its addition will enhance Blackwell’s position as the leading publisher in veterinary science. The journal provides the veterinary profession with leading-edge clinical and scientific veterinary research, case reports, reviews, news and timely coverage of industry issues.
Dr. Anne Jackson, Editor-in-Chief of AVJ, said “I am looking forward to working with Blackwell Publishing to increase the international visibility of the journal, as well as to enhance the profile of the excellent research material published in the AVJ – through Blackwell Publishing’s global publishing network”.
As part of the partnership agreement, the world’s largest society publisher will also provide Blackwell Publishing’s books to AVA members at special rates. This strategic collaboration will enable the AVA to add extra value for their members.
President of the AVA, Dr. Matthew Matkin, remarked, “This association with Blackwell Publishing will benefit AVA members by providing easy online access to past and present papers published in the Journal. It will increase our standing in the world veterinary community, by being able to publish ground breaking research in the international arena.”
Added Mark Robertson – President of Blackwell Publishing in Asia – “Our new relationship with the AVA brings one of the leading journals in its field to Blackwell Publishing – thus strengthening our position in veterinary science. This partnership is significant as it integrates our journals and books publishing expertise.”

I must admit that this is one great insight. It surely gives a company the opportunity to get in on the ground floor and really take part in creating something special and tailored to their needs.
